we have fostered four sets of siblings over seven years
short term, emergency, and we have fostered a brother and sister long term for six years. We are currently fostering two young sisters alongside them.

Siblings can and do support each other through the difficult times they may face. They stick together and give each other confidence when they find themselves in what must be a scary situation, coming into foster care.
they are company for each other and play together, making life a little easier for us!!
Our long term siblings are incredibly close, they’re teenagers now and drive each other crazy at times, but absolutely adore each other and each would be lost without the other.
squabbles are inevitable
but with time you can anticipate triggers and avoid any major situations. The early days can be tricky, but you soon settle into a routine that suits everyone.
Sharing your time equally with each child can be difficult but so worth the effort. Giving each child someone to one time gives them the opportunity to form secure attachments so they know they are loved and valued. Give them time and opportunity to be an individual and not just part of a sibling group.
We have five children of our own so fostering more than 1 child has never been seen as an issue.
We are a big, slightly chaotic, noisy but loving family and wouldn’t have it any other way.
